Ok let’s face it the majority of people tend to find working out a real chore and working out in the morning a definite non starter. But, if you try these following tips then you will reap so many more benefits.
1. Early morning training makes you feel fantastic and ready to take on your day! The endorphin release really kick starts your day and put’s your mind and body in a higher state of focus. The primal part of your brain is in a high state of functioning making you feel more alert and aware of your surroundings. Ask your self this, how good would it feel to walk into work totally focused and on top of the world as opposed to walking in the office and thinking “here we go again another painful day in work”.
2. Your cortisol levels peak in the morning allowing you to burn off more calories throughout the day. When training in the evening your cortisol levels deplete and your hormonal system is ready for relaxation and down time not getting reved up for exercise, which ca be counter productive when trying to achieve your goals.
3. The feeling of it being done – Once exercised in the morning, you have done the work you need to do, following work you can go home and relax and enjoy your evening with the family, eat a good meal and retire for the evening falling into a nice restful sleep. Because you have been up early and exercised your body will want to rest earlier and therefore you have a fantastic sleep, which has numerous benefits from immune and tissue repair to psychological repair.
So get up early and have a great workout, enjoy being up when everybody is still in bed, reap all the physical and psychological benefits and more importantly feel good about what you have done!
